Could I use this on a 1/2 ton?

A friend of mine is starting a Repo business, and he wants me to go in with him, problem is we've both got 1/2 ton trucks. I know that I can tow a car with no problem, but I want to know if my truck can handle this http://www.wheellift.com/ everything that I found that was similar said 3/4 ton or larger trucks only, but they were a lot heavier, and mostly bed mounted any help would be greatly appreciated.

Figure most cars are FWD with 60-65% front weight bias. So, take a 3000 pound car, times 60% bias means you want to carry 1800 pounds well behind the rear axle. That's not 1/2 ton territory. If you want to do repos, get a tow dolly and a winch. Minimal tounge weight. Just cannot back up with them.

Nope, don't put that on a half ton.

The fix for this is simple.
One of you needs to stop making payments.
When the order for the repo comes, the other takes the call.

1. Your company gets business

2. One of the 1/2 tons is gone and now you can get a 3/4 ton.

Repeat above for other truck.

3. More business

4. Company now has two 3/4 trucks.

WIN / WIN
