I hear that will stiffin up the truck under load and could help you out.

 

Check out turtleexpedition.com, this may be the russia expedition someone mentioned earlier. Gary and Monika have made a life out of living out of truck campers. Nice people too, they haven't killed each other after all this time!

 

Ford trucks are tough - I doubt that you WILL have any problems besides what you are already prepared for - flat tires, plugged air filter if it gets real dusty, stone damage. The add a leaf sounds like a good idea - and maybe even a new set of shocks before you go if yours have any kind of mileage on them. You sound like you have a very good concept of preventive maintenance, that's a huge plus right there.

 

Did anyone ever hear about how he made out on his trip from FL to Alaska? I was expecting a good post about the trip with some pics by now.
