Transmission cooler a must for a 900+ mile trip?

Hello all. I'm getting ready to take a trip from Maryland to Florida (approx. 950 miles) and I will be towing a U-Haul trailer down. The weight will be under 3K lbs. so I'm not at all worried about my truck being capable of towing this as I have towed much more weight, just not all that frequently and certainly not for this amount of miles.

While I know a tranny cooler will never hurt and that I should probably get one anyway, will I be OK to make this trip with out one? Thanks.

Heat is what kills your transmission, put if the weather is cool and you don't have alot of hills too go up it should be ok.When you get back home put a cooler on.Transmissions heat up alot any way with out pulling something.

Naaah.... If you want one and having one will let you sleep better at night, go ahead, but it's definately not a must-have.

Cool, thanks for the replies. The trip with trailer is only one way so hopefully I will be good to go as is.

You will NOT need a trans cooler to pull a little 3K uhaul.
