F-150 Towing Mirrors?

I own a 2006 F-150 Supercrew XLT With Electric/Heated Mirrors, I'm looking for Mirror Extenders or Towing Mirrors for my truck, the stock mirrors doesnt get the job done when towing my camper. I have looked up all the info I can on the net, but what I keep seeing is the extender are available for every model except the XLT and SXT, anyone out there overcame this problem? I like this truck but if I cant get some kind of mirrors to fit I guess it back to the Super Duty's again.

Thanks
Ohio Eddie

Hey there Ohio Eddie, welcome to the site. I personally dont use extended mirrors but did a search and found a thread with a link in it for some mirrors. Not sure if they will work on our trucks but you may be able to email one of the guys that are using them to see if theyll work. Here is the thread link.

Ohio Eddie,
I have a set of schefenacker extendable mirrors from www.fordaccessories.com and LOVE them. There power/heated/turnsignal/clearance light models.

I use the **** 11800 slip-ons and they are great. They even look stock and have the cutout for the signal mirrors. They are the same ones that Ford sells through their accessory catalog. I think I got mine from www.autoanything.com

EDIT: I just did a quick search in Froogle and they are $45.00 for the pair at www.cabelas.com

X3 for the TTT mirrors. I also got them aftermaket from Schafenacker (sp?). They're great for towing my travel trailer. No blind spots at all. However, even for daily driving (fully retracted), they do flutter/jitter/shake a little more than that stock mirrors. It took me a few weeks to get used to it, but I barely notice it now.

Previous to the TTT mirrors, I used the **** slip-on mirrors, the ones custom made for each vehicle. I just wasn't happy with them. They shook ALOT, and the mirror was too small to have a good view.

Mine don't shake at all Is it one or both? Maybe you got a bad mirror.

It's both. I've taken them off & remounted a few times, but it still happens. I remember reading about other people with these mirrors noticing it a little too, so I assumed it was normal...???... Great, another "problem" with my truck that I get to spend forevery trying to fix

Thanks for all the info, I learned more by reading your posts than I did looking at the internet. I think I'm going with the **** slip on for now, I only tow 4 or 5 times a year, small camper during vacations, so I really dont need towing mirrors full time.
Thanks Again!!
