Relays in permanently?

2001 Screw with factory trailer tow package...once the two relays for trailer charging and backup lights are installed, is there any reason not to leave them in permanently?

Just out of curiousity, I wonder why they were not installed at the factory for tow-package equipped trucks.

mine have been in since 2001, not sure why they don't put them in.

mine have been in since 99. when you get the tow package there is a bag in the glove box with the relays, 7 pin to 4 pin adapter, the pig tail for the brake controller and the instructions. i guess this costs ford money to put in every truck if its not needed.

I suspect it's a lot easier to toss the bag in the glove box as it's going down the line then to install them as well.

It would be up to the dealer to install them after they take delivery I'd say.... Should be part of the dealers "prep" IMO...
