Any Tuner Tow Experiences?

I'm getting the XCal2 from Troyer with an 87 Tow and a 91 Tow; and a 91 Performance. Has anyone got any experience with the Tow tunes? Any improvements in towing?

I hope to find out soon!! I ordered the exact same setup (tune choices). It should be in any day now. BTW, what part of acadiana are you from?

Well man, I'm from Minnesota!! But I play a button accordion in a Cajun band here in MN. I have an Acadian brand accordion from Marc Savoy. Check out our band website @ newriversideramblers.com

Been to Louisiana numerous times. Lafayette, Eunice, Oppelousa (sp?), Crowley, Breaux Bridge; Church Point, Ville Platte. Our band won CD of the Year Award from the Cajun French Music Association in 2004. We played at the Blue Moon in Lafayette.

Got the Xcal from Troyer last fall, mostly of course to take care of the lag with the "fly by wire" throttle and for towing our 28' trailer for better engine performance and response/shifting. Very noticeable difference, especially with my '04 5.4, You won't be disapointed.

I can't tell a difference towing or even normal driving with the Troyer xcal II.

If you want something for towing get gears, thats the best bang for the buck.

I already had a shift kit, so I think thats why I don't notice anything with the xcal. I think other people (without shift kit) get crisper shifts with the x cal and think it feels alot stronger.

When I went from 3.55s to 4.10 it made a huge difference. For less than $400 bucks you can install the gears if you have the tools.

I have a 01 s'crew 5.4L w 3.55 gears. Yesterday I towed a 23' tt the weighed about 5000# I also have a 1715 superchips maxmicro tuner and I noticed that the truck didn't shift at all out of over drive in the 100 mile trip and i even dusted my brother in the 01 350 PSD pulling a 31' 7000# tt up a hill. I love the 1715 and i love it more now that i have towed with it.
