towing with a chip

I was wondering what your experiences have been towing with a chip(and what programmer is best for this application) on 87 octane. What can i expect to gain. 2000 5.4 4x4 7700pck

The best 87 octane programs tend to get little power, but firmer shifts. I would not expect much towing performance difference with those programs.
