I don't know of anyone towing anything that big and heavy for any period of time with an F-150. You're well into F-250 territory, and possibly F-350. That camper will weigh well into the 9000# range when it's loaded up with water and camping stuff. Just the pin weight itself will probably be over 2000#...

Did the RV salesperson say your truck can handle it without a problem because I think you're going to be wishing for more power, stiffer rear suspension, better brakes, and a stronger frame. Oh, wait, that's a Superduty.

I guess by the lack of responses to anyone else towing that much with their F150 tells you something.......

I think my Dad's new 5th wheel has about those same specs..... I mean, it's about that same "DRY" weight, but has a #12700 GVWR on it too..... His pin weight is in the #3000 neighborhood I'm sure (#2500 "dry".....)

He tows it with a 3500 diesel "dually" and he knows it's back there.....

Since the "dry" weight is about the "max" weight of your trucks "tow rating", I'd say that you will have your hands full..... Besides, there is no way in heck that you'll be able to stay under the trucks GVWR and Rear GAWR.... No way...... Sure, it might move it, but it ain't gonna like it!

Good luck!

Mitch

Don't get pulled over on the highway, they might want to weigh you, and you could get a huge fine.
It does happen.

I pulled a 33' Phoenix with close to 2000" pin weight and 12500" dry weight. I used a '01 F250 w/PSD and I wouldn't have even considered trying it with a F150. Actually, I would have been better off with a F350. Good luck!

I don't think i've ever seen a 35ft FW on a 1/2 ton (Any 1/2 ton) before.

If the trailer sales person told you a 1/2 ton can do it, ask him to borrow his.

Well, no problem except for the fact that the truck is grossly overloaded. You're WAY over the GCWR, and that's dry. Throw in another 1200 lbs of gear and 500 lbs of fluids, and ou're foolish to think your F-150 is the right tool for the job.

Sad..... so sad.

Didn't even know it would work this well. this should be FORDS new commercial for the f150 rather than an Import.

You pull that big fifth wheel with your 04 F150?? I never would have guessed it would haul that. Wow. Hey, anyone here have any probs with the bed depth and their fifth wheel hitch. I have very little clearance.

Eagle must have put the axles in JUST the right spot. Did you need air bags or overload springs? Can you post some pictures of it hitched up?

That truck is DEFINITELY "Built Ford Tough" -----Can I get an AMEN?

forgive me if it seems like I am trying to start some $#!T, But as I look closely at the pics that this gentleman posted and read his STORY, I think there may be a little embelishing.

1. it appears to me that if he just towed it home, surley he would have took a picture of his two favorite toy's hooked together, I know I would have.

2. I could be wwwwwwwwrong but the clearence on the bed leaves me too believe that the tailgate should be removed or dropped to ensure the necassary clearance, obviously the tailgate was not removed as it it still in position on the photo's, I don't believe it was dropped either for the simple fact that there are no large gashes in the front of his new 5er,having previously lived in that area for many years I can assure you the tailgate down is not the way to tour TENNESSEE. I am in no way calling this gentleman a liar, but I do believe that he has his f150 confused with something a tad larger
