Where do you store your trailer ?

I am looking to pick up a 18' open car hauler. I can't store the thing at my house, so I started calling around to the local space rental places. It's like $55-$100 a month just to store a trailer .... out doors no less.

Any creative ideas out there ?

Really, not much else you can do.... Got a buddy or a relative that can store stuff on their property and are willing to do it for ya? That's about it....

I'm lucky and actually have space on both sides of my house to park such items.... Also, no neighborhood rules that prevent it either...

That was a major consideration in buying our house (actually rejected one because it didn't have any side yard) and at the time I didn't even have any trailers.... On side has my utility trailer and the other has the travel trailer. They are parked behind a fence too, so it's not trashy looking either......

Good luck!

Mitch

What, no Torino or Camaro on blocks anywhere? Oh wait that is here in the south.

snkbtn99, what do you mean by you can't store the trailer at your house, is it lot size or homeowners association problems that is preventing you from storing it outside?

Home owners association .... Trailer is too long to fit in standard garage ..No real good way to get it into the back of the house. Too tight on the sides. I was figuring on about $20-$30 a month to store it in someones fenced in area .... It's not like I am taking up valuable undercover space.

I would like to spend that cash for storage on the toys instead .... Gotta feed the Cobra AND the FX4 .... Oh well, time to stop being a tight *** I guess. Was hoping there was an alternative out there that I had not tried.

I use a nearby All-Storage place, but they're very reasonable. $28 a month for outside storage.

Where ever you store it GET SOME KIND OF LOCK!!!!!!I had my trailer stored at a friends mechanic shop. His yard is shared with 4 other business was broken into and the only thing they STOLE was MY TRAILER.I had a simple lock on the trailer and that didnt stop them.Look into getting something better as a locling device. I checked Ebay and there are alot of locking devices for trailers and wheels ect. I will be well worth your while in the long run unless you are going to pass by your trailer to check on it everyday.Hope this helps

Invest in some property and fence it off, maybe build a big garage on it. I would rather invest in somthing of my own instead of paying rent that you never will see the money again.

I keep my car hauler on another piece of property up behind my house.
