airlift or firestone

Wondering if anyone has an opinion between the two. I did a searchand could not come up with a comparison. I have an '04 scab 5.4 4x2 hauling a 7000 travel trailer and can't decide between the two. They cost about the same and both lift 200 lbs. Any input would help. Thank you

Actually the Firestone will lift up to 5000lbs depending on how much pressure you run. As far as comparing the two

Airlift uses plastic caps with molded in fittings. They also use a thinner wall construction on their bag.

Firestone uses steel top and bottom caps with welded on studs and threaded brass fittings. They also have a heavier bag construction. I know the Firestone kit is also a No-Drill application, so you won't have to drill and unnecessary holes in your frame.

However, I am a little biased for Firestone since I work for them.

I was comparing the sport-rite from Firestone to the ride control from Air lift. They both are rated for 2000 lbs, which is fine because I am NEVER going to haul 5000 lbs anytime.

I didn't realize you had an old body style 04 that would take the sport-rite kit then, in which case it is not a no-drill application. The sport-rite kit is capable of 3000 lbs for the set.

I have the new body style and am pretty sure they make only a sport rite for that one

For that body style and year it is a ride-rite kit number 2350 that uses the double convoluted air springs capable of 4800 lbs for the set. This is a no-drill application. If you want more info visit Firestone's website it also has the manuals online for the kit so you can see how it installs.

My mistake. I am still looking for any more insight. The Firestone kit costs about $240 and the Air lift is about $180. $60 difference is not chump change.
