Where To Put Brake Controller On 2005

I have a 2005 f150 scab and looking for a good location for the brake controller. It seems if I put it under the dash in line with the accelerator, it's going to hit my knee. Same thing on the other side. Anybody put one in yet, someplace that it's not in the way? Thanks in advance.

Just put one in my 04 a week ago. I mounted it in that cubby under the cup holders. Only bad thing is when towing you will not be able to use those pull out cup holders, but I have 2 in the armrest anyways. Its in close enough reach for me. I tryed a few practice panic stops before mounting it and its fine. Few holes in the cubby to mount it/run wires through and its good as gold.
Write up I did is HERE

Heres a pic, more on that link.

Nico,
Thanks for the info. I have the captians chairs with the center console so I didn't have that cubby hole. I palyed around with it today and ended up putting it right next to the emergency brake lever. There's a mounting plate there and the brake unit tucked up pretty good. I'm not knocking my knees yet, if I do I'll relocate it. It's good to keep them accessable so you can level the unit and adjust while driving. Tow safely.

Glad it worked out for you.

I drove a FX-4 before getting this truck and loved the center section. Really for me it makes no diffrence. I got to cleen my counsole and door already because I come home rather dirty some days.

Any pics of the install?

tele,

What kind of unit did you get? I need one for my 04 for when I'll be pulling my 2H trailer.

mine was under the dash, to the right of the steering wheel, about 4" above the bottom of the dash. You might need to get a flash light. I still wondering where to mount mine. I'm thinking velco or something. I hate to drill holes. That thing looks stupid, I would like to remove it when I'm not towing.

I dont have to worry about a controller. I bought a high dollar one, sorta. I traded in my 04 F150 for an 05 F250 CC with the new integrated one.

I just need read the manual now.
