If it does, tow the truck backwards
Dpostman
I'd be less worried about the trailer and more worrried that you blow the tranny in the U-Haul truck. Loaded up and towing your truck, you will probably weigh in about 5000 lbs over the gross combined weight.
Van empty: 6,100 lbs
Gross comined weight: 11,000 lbs
Van empty plus your truck/trailer: 6100 + 2000 + 4600 = 12700 lbs
Add another 3000 lbs for fuel, people, and stuff = 14700 lbs

I want to keep from putting all those miles on my truck...besides the Military is paying for everything...gas, U-Haul equipment, hotels, etc...it ain't going to cost me a dime, they also pay me $77.00 per 100 lbs...so I'll profit at least $3,000.00. They do this because it's cheaper than having a moving company do it & the'd rather pay me a little than a moving company alot.

We work till May to pay our taxes and then the government spends 51% of OUR MONEY on the military, so YOU can make a profit off of an expense account.....
And to top it off, you brag about it.....

It's clear that NKwish did not understand that you were saving the government money or he/she wouldn't have posted that.
The government really takes advantage on these moves.
They could pay $2000 to professional movers
or
dangle the carrot in front of the poor service man
offering $800 to do it himself,
risking damage to his truck,
his back,
and what friendships he may have had before he asked his buddies to help.
