Help with a question or 2 please

I have a 2002 F150 SuperCab that I currently use to haul a pop-up. My wife and I want to upgrade to a fair sized pull-behind. By that I mean about 4000 to 4500 pounds. The truck has a 4.6L but I am not really sure about the rear end ratio. I bought this truck used from a dealer and there was no owner's manual or any info I could use to determine the specs on the rear end or even if it has a towing package. Could someone tell me how I might could figure this out? Thanks!

My dad has a 2WD 02 Supercab with a 4.6 and I have towed my trailer behind it (around 4700#) without problems. It is fairly flat here where I am and I don't know the terrain you will be towing through but there is a night and day difference between the 4.6 and a 5.4 towing through hills. Hope that helps.

Look on the driver's door jamb for this sticker:

Look for the AXLE code, which is B6 above.

19 = 3.55 open
H9 = 3.55 LSD
26 = 3.73 open
B6 = 3.73 LSD
27 = 3.31 open
18 = 3.08 open
25 = 4.10 open
B5 = 4.10 LSD

Then, you can consult Raoul's weight chart for how much you can tow.

With a 4.6L I wouldn't want to tow much more than 4000 pounds very often, especially in hills. Remember whne buying that next trailer that dry weight is not travel ready weight. Expect 1000-1500 pounds more with camping/travel gear.
