Thumbs up SuperSprings

Installed a set of Supersprings on my truck then towed my 5000lb boat plus another 1000lb of gear over 600 miles. The roads were very twisty and hilly. The handling and performance were amazing. The truck bed stayed level and there was no sway or lean in curves. Great improvement! Also they work like a good sway bar for improved everyday driving especially in curves with no compromise in ride quality. I'm pretty happy with the result. I highly recommend Supersprings for anyone towing serious loads with an F150.

Seems to be the same idea as these Hellwig overload springs

I checked out their web site and they seem a bit pricey too..... They want $234 + the mounting kit of another $40....

My Hellwigs cost $150 including the mounting kit.....

Main thing is that they do what they are supposed to do, no matter what the brand is!

Man, I could not believe how whimpy the stock springs are... I loaded it up with #1000 of bricks from Home Depot and it sank to the bump stops!! Put on the Hellwigs and the next time I loaded it up with about #1000, it only dropped about 2"....

The supersprings look very similar to the Hellwigs. I went for the Supersprings one, because there's a shop near my house that sells/installs them and two, because I read they don't compromise the ride when there's no load on them. No negatives, aside from the price, and I could get a set installed 2 days before I went on a trip.

How do the Hellwigs ride when not loaded?

It did firm up the ride, but for the better IMO.... It was just too soft for my taste and the thing could not hold a bag of groceries without sagging in the rear!

They also cured the wheel hop it had and the rear end "clunk" as well.

After I got new shocks, the ride was even better! Even smoother then before. They are just a basic shock from the local tire chain store called Les Schwab. They are called "Mountain Riders" and are supposed to vary it's damping rate depending on the road condition.

Even after I got the LT tires (load range C), the ride is still fine....
