My dual pod holds Autometer Water and Trans temp gauges. I choose the electric ones just for ease of installation. Got them from Summit Racing online and cost about $120.00 for the gauges and the pod. Had to go to Home Depot for additional plumbing and wiring parts. Another $30.00 or so.

Wired from a 5 amp fuse from the panel that only gets hot when the ignition is on. Tapped into one of the head light wires that gets hot when lights are turned on for the illumination. Used inline 3 amp fuses on the gauge wires just to be safe....

If I would have thought about it a bit more, would have wired into one of the dash wires that works off of the dimmer....... Maybe I'll fix that the next time I have the switch out....

Had to paint the pod to match interior color. Found some automotive interior paint that came close enough to the grey interior...

For the water temp sendor, I tapped into the inlet side of the heater hose using a 5/8" brass "T" and assorted fittings and clamps to make the splice. Mine was at the rear of the pass side and the hose that's just above the #4 coil pack.

For the trans temp sendor, I tapped into the trans output line up front where there is the rubber hose portion of the line, just before it goes into the rad (the top line). I used a 3/8" brass "T" and assorted fittings along with a 12" length of hose to make a loop to complete the spice and not disturb the original location of the lines.

Since I went with electric gauges, I had to run individual ground wires to each "T" to complete the circuit since I spiced into rubber hoses.

Works great and it's been two years since the install and zero problems..... It's really amazing that Ford is still putting in those stupid idiot light gauges...... The only time you will be alerted to any problem, is when the actual idiot light comes on!! Usually, that's too late anyway, so what's the point......

Good luck!

Mitch
