Is it safe to....

tow using the 91 octane performance only setting on the 1715 tuner? The only reason I ask is because I tow once a week to the race track and home and I think that when set on towing and performance it shifts strange when I am not towing. I am very lazy and would rather leave it on performance all the time if at all possible.

Any help and insight given would be greatly appreciated.

No, its not recommended to tow with. I have read about this from Mike Troyers posts. He gave the exact reasons for it in a post he made. Go over and read in the chips forum and you'll find your answer and a whole lot more.

Just keep it on the performance tow program and you won't have to worry about it. After talkign with Mike, he said the key difference between max performance and performance tow is that the towing program runs a richer air to fuel ratio to keep the cats cool for sustained heavy throttle inputs, like towing on the highway.
