Question 7700 Series Towing Question

Being a newby to this forum I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time with this question. I own a 2000 F150 7700 series Lariet with the Full Towing package. My Engine is a 5.4 L with Automatic Transmission w/ Overdrive. Rear end is a 3.75 limited slip. At the present time I'm adding a few odd's & end's to boost the performance (Airaid Air Intake . Flowmaster exhaust and in the near future a Flip Chip)
I just recently aquired a 24' boat with a combined weight of the Tralier/Boat @ 5200 Lbs. Am I pushing the limit towing this Bad Boy? Any help out there or advise would take a great load off my shoulders.

Thanks
John Koerber (TheKoerb)

Towing

You should be well w/in the limits. I'm running a 5.4 with an Iceman Intake and Flowmaster exhaust and am towing 7K regularly.

You're good to go. I pull my buddies 5000 plus pound boat all over New England with the same set up as you minus the mods.

For the record though...

Those intake and exhaust mods as well as the chip do not increase your towing capacity.

They will help you get the load moving but it is the transmission, rear end, suspension and brakes that define your towing capacity.

Thumbs up

You are well within the limits.
I hauled my wife and her sister to the beauty parlor.
