so we traded in our 2011 ford explorer limited for the 2012 f150 we have now, the sync was alot nicer IMO in the explorer, is it possible to update the sync to the other kind, the f150 currently has the version 1 4.02 i believe it was, i dont remember what the one in the explorer was but the home screen was the 4 corner type, phone, nav, radio and climate.

also the f150 doesnt have the SD card slot either, that ive found anyways just a usb and line in

Unfortunately the way Ford does the hardware means that each vehicle seems to be a unique implementation so you can't grab software versions from one vehicle and put it in another.

While I haven't tried it, the USB slot is supposed to work with generic USB storage media so you might want to try grabbing a USB SD card reader and seeing if that works.

 

Yea that might work only problem is I don't have the 800$ we card with sync on it lol oh well maybe they will update it eventually, I was just curious if anyone had figured out how to upgrade it
