I've got a new F 150 Lariat on the way.

From what I understand, music can be installed on an SD card and this SD card can be connected to the SYNC.

What I'm having trouble grasping is the SD card that has the navigation data on it. If the navigation card is removed to play music from another SD card, does the navigation function cease?

I could put the music on a thumb drive, but from reading other posts leaving the thumb drive always connected presents some issues. (Perhaps later software versions may have dealt with that - I guess I might just have to see on that).

nav data is on the card. remove it and nav ceases. Thumb drive is what I use.
