Swap raido to upgrade SYNC

Got a 2009 F-150 XLT SYNC option not available. I want to pull a radio out of a wrecked 2011, that has all SYNC options, As in Destinations and Texts

Will this work? How would I register the newer radio to my VIN# or do I have to?

HA HA. Send the same question to Syncmyride.com and the answer I got back was "Check with the dealer"

They don't know ether!

Talked to a dealer and guy was very helpful. Only need the Communications module from under the top dash rubber pad and remove 2 screws.

Now if Syncmyride.com can help after I change the module.

Will up date later.

Cant believe I am the first guy to think of this or willing to try

You will need some wiring to go with it I think. There should be a harness that goes with that computer. Also, you will need the radio out of that truck so all the functions work. Not sure about what to do with the steering wheel controls.

You will also need the Microphone and wiring that's in the headliner if you plan on using any of the voice functions.
