2012 Raptor priced at $146K!!!!

I was looking on auto trader and saw a raptor priced at $146,460. I thought it has to be a mistake so i went to their website and the price is also at $146K. I have seen price mark ups but this is crazy if its real. Most likely just a mistake but i thought it was funny enough to share.

I really like the Raptor, not real crazy about those wheels. Is that the standard for 2012. I like the 2011 wheels better.

reply from them....
Good afternoon,

We did that on purpose. It pops up as the most expensive F-150 on Autotrader. 46460 would buy that truck if it was still available. It has been sold. Is there another truck in my inventory that you have interest in?
It's their attention grabber basically....

You don't get it... By pricing the truck that high, it tops the list, and the dealership gets free advertising. You click on the expensive truck to see why it's priced so high, then move on to the next truck, which could very well be from that same dealership.

Interesting marketing idea, and the fact that it generated discussion here proves that it is working.

That would be the last dealer I would ever buy from! Games are not my style.

I agree. If my first impression is via a "marketing technique", you're the last person I'd buy from, I'll take note of who they are, and even send a comment to them reflecting the same.

Is that supposed to be a deal? Why do you mention selling at MSRP? I paid almost $3,000 under MSRP. One dealer offered me $2,300 off, so I went to my current dealer and got them to beat the offer by $500.

Now mine was $55,775 MSRP with all the options, so maybe they could shave off a little more because options have higher profit margins.

Also, my dealer has none in stock. Every Raptor ordered by the dealer (about 6 per month) has a customer deposit and is never on the lot for sale.
