Please help

I need to get the part number for the 4x4 switch for a 2010 raptor. I am looking for the switch on the dash that you pull out for posi lock or turn to engage 4wd hi or 4wd lo.

Thanks
MIke

does your truck already have the locking rear diff? if so it would have the switch in it already and if not the switch alone wont make it lock

yes, my truck has the e-locker, its an fx4. In the raptor or f-250/350 you can pull the switch straight out to lock in the rear axle. in the 150 you have to have it in 4wd to be able to lock in the rear end.

sorry about the confusion.. I have tried the ford route... the idiot ordered the "off road mode" raptor switch.
I am thinking that it will work but i will be able to return the switch if it dont work. actually i will order the switch through a friend of mine and i will retrun it no matter what because I have to pay retail. If it does not work i will not have lost anything, if it does work i will have the part number and i can order it from tasca much cheaper.

So wait, are you trying to install it as a mod to consolidate multiple switches, or is this a style thing?

Are you sure that the factory set-up can be tweaked like that?

nope, but if not like i said in a previous post, the switch can be returned, Before I buy the switch (if i ever find the correct part number) i am going to figure out what wire goes to the elocker and put a jumper from the power source wire (at the switch) the the locker wire to see if it activates or not. I was told that a "friend of a friend of a friend" placed a regular toggle switch for the mod but i dont like toggles and i want the factory finish of the raptor switch.

The only reason i want the mod is because more than once i have hit the 4wd switch and had to wait several seconds befroe it would lock in, the posi track would be instant and that makes a world of difference on an icy or muddy boat ramp.

I just ordered the factory switch from a raptor! It comes in three days and I will let you know how the install goes and also if it works. I will call tomorrow to get the part # for the raptor switch. If it works I will do a write up on how to install it.

please pm me the part number asap...
I played with my switch a little last night and was unable to determine what was going on when i engaged the locker. i cant drilled out my switch so i could pull it directly out while in 2wd but it did nothhing for the locker due to the fact that the contacts in the fx4 switch do not connect to anything while in 2wd. The switch is somewhat simple, the locker switch is actually a momentary (normally off) button, when you pull the switch out there is a dowel that moves forward with the **** and allows the button to open the circuit and engage the locker.

I do not know if you have tried to get the old switch out yet but the best way i found is to remove the two bolts at the top of the radio, pull the radio panel forward a little and it will allow you to pull the grey trim piece forward without messing with the console.

I would like to see the raptor wiring harness for the switch. the FX4 switch has 8 holes for pins to stick into but the wiring harness only has seven wires.
