Question suspension

i got a 1997 f-150 ext cab short bed.
i was told that a 15 inch rim wont fit on it, i was wondering if that was true or not?? Also im getting a super left in a few days and i am pretty sure that a 37-13-r15 will fit under a 5 inch lift??

The only reason i can figure they'd tell u a 15" rim wouldn't fit would be backspacing.......a large retailer like the tire rack or fourwheelparts wharehouse should be able to get u a set with the right backspacing.
As far as fitting 37's under a 5" lift, that might not work, they call for a 4" lift to fit 33's.....

yea, a 15 in should fit. NO, a 37 in tire wont fit a 5 in. lift, unless your planning on doing some fender trimming. I have either a 5 in. or a 6 in. on mine, i was told it was a 5, but some people tell me it has to be a 6 in. I can just clear 315's (35's). It still rubs a little on some turns, but cranking up the torsion bars really helped.

You can get 15" rims but they are hard to find. You might be able to fit 37's but it would be close. I have 36x12.50 16. And i only have a 4" trailmaster. The do not rub at all. But i had to take my mud flaps off. Also i did not have to crank my torsion bars up. 5" superlift is 4" with 1" of torsion bar cranking.

Don't use 15" wheels on a 97+ F150s There are only 2 different models on the market. One made by Prme and the other is the American Ealge 1189. To fit them over the brake caliprs, the offset of the 15" wheels are huge. So they will stick waaaaay outside of your fenders. Looks dumb in my opinion. (I had the 15x10 American Eagle 1189s with 33's and a 3" body lift 4 years ago on my truck.) Just do yourself a favor and buy 16, 16.5, or 17" wheels. As for fitting 37's with 4" of lift, you should be able to sqeeze them in there with some trimming and cranking of the torsion bars. There is a guy on the other site by the name of Boseefus who runs the 37x12.50R17 BFG MT's with a 4" Trailmaster kit. Still expect lots of rubbing, and Id plan on adding a 3" body lift too.

Ya i must agree with everyone else 15"s are a bad idea as far as you running 37's it is not gonna happen with a 5in lift i have a two wheel drive 7"in CST long travel and a 3" body lift and my 37's still rub when i crank it to make you turns.
