Drop Shackles
If I install a 2" drop shackle, when I tow my boat and the truck usually sits level, will it be sitting 2" lower than it normally did, because the shackles dropped it 2"? I would love the look of having the back 2" lower, but I dont want the bumper to be that much closer to the ground when I tow a boat. I hope that it would still stay level. Thanks for the input.

My truck would drop ~3" with the stock suspension when I towed my 5500 lb boat and trailer. So when I lowered it with dropped shackles and a hanger kit, I re-arched the leaf spring with an add-a-leaf. The shackles dropped it 2". The hangers dropped it another 2". The add-a-leaf kit raised it back up ~2", so I ended up taking one of the factory leafs out and keeping the add-a-leaf. I ended up with a 3.5" drop in the back with a setup that is stiffer than stock. Now the back only drops ~1.5" with my boat and my truck rides great...
I don't know if you want to go to the trouble and expense for a 2" drop, but you could add shackles, hangers and an add-a-leaf for a stiff 2" drop that probably would not sag at all under load. If you do it, leave out the shim, because your pinion angle will not change enough for you to need it.
