lowering a F150

I am lowering a '99 F150 flareside. I am putting factory lightning wheel on it. Does anyone know how much I need to lower the frt & rear to have a stock lightning look?

A 3-4 drop will get you lower than a lightning, so I would say go with a 2-3 if you want to get as close to a lighting as possible.

I believe the Lightnings are only lowered 1" front and back from the factory. Plus the shorter tire diameter on the 18's make them .75" shorter (28.5" vs. 30") than reg F-150 tire diameters. So a 2/3 drop should get you close. I have a 3/4 drop on my truck with the 20's retaining the stock tire diameter:

Thanks for the info guys. This web site is cool. I learn something new every time I go here!!

99 Flareside,
Your truck looks awesome! Making me wonder if I should put the lightning wheels and frt bumper on or not?
