Gearing help...

So I know we've seen this topic like 10000000x but I think I'm gonna go ahead and drop the $1250 on getting 4.56 gears...can anyone think of a good reason not too? A lot of people keep sayin i should stick with 4.10s but i really want the more power...i plan on towing more soon and the more torque and gobs of power i can squeeze, the better. Any advice, recommends, testimonies? Thanks...

Thumbs up Do 4.56's

Brandon, Do the 4.56's and don't sweat the mileage. The difference in RPM's is less than 300 between the two and the fuel mileage is negligable. I love the power I got out of my 4.56's and I still get 15-17 mpg depending on my driving style. They way I looked at it, I didn't want to drop all that money and put 4.10's in just to basically get back to a stock gear ratio. I wanted a performance improvement for my money and the 4.56's made my final drive ratio around 3.97. Do the 4.56's and have some fun.

i say 4.10 or 3.73 for 33s
4.10 or 4.56 for 35s+

you start to get into really low ratios like jeep crawler ratios like 5.13 and you'll start breaking stuff...

I went with the 4.56, just for the simple fact that if I go with an even bigger tire eventually, I will already have the gearing in place. My RPMs down the freeway @ 70 MPH are roughly 2700 in OD on my 5-speed, V6. Going to 4.56 was by far the best mod I have ever done on any vehicle ever. I can't believe the performance increase it gave me. Go for it man.
