Overload removal?

I have a 97 Reg cab, flareside and was wondering about removing the overload spring in the leaf. Will this drop the rearend at all and will the ride be better.
Not bad right now but any improvement would be coool.
I don't haul much anyway.

look and see how many springs you have, the soft ride trucks have two. The towing pakage trucks have three. you can remove the bottom leaf if you have three but keep the overlaod so you don't bottom out the springs or overload them.
You will need to replace the hardware, U-bolts and spring center bolt. it may drop the rear a little, but will ride better.

Thanks Dale, I'll check it out. I remember taking the overload out of a Datsun once and it made a 100percent improvement in the ride because it wasn't hitting the overload.
So you don't think the hardware will have enough threads on it to take up the slack. Bummer.
