Red face help, something is loose...

Hey everyone,

I have noticed this slight rattle, only on the drivers side,it is not very loud, It sounds like it is the front cab bolt and it is out and is rattling around..but It is not that because I put those in and they are still there....(for those of you that did not know ford forget my front 2 cab bolts, they we not even in the hole) anyways..It is not the Rancho shock, the sway bar and end links are tight, could it be an a-arm bushing, what else could be loose, It is starting to become annoying, I just dont want something to drop off while Im driving around...If anyone has experienced this please help..thanks again all..

There are about 50 of us on this list that have that problem and don't know what it is. Some people found a loose cotter pin rattling against the dust cap that covers the wheel bearing. Others, like me are still looking...

Talking may have found it..

Ford4ever,

I just got home and I noticed "THE" noise... I heard it when I shut my door....so I got out the mag lite and crawled under the truck and I slammed the door while I was under the truck and I may have found the problem.

The passenger side main cat and the piping hit the top of the tranny cross brace when the door slams, or when I hit a bump!!! It rattles just the same and, it could be felt under my seats...so maybe that was it...I wont know till I fix that...good luck on tracking down the sounds and rattles...
