Question Leaf springs

I have yet to check this out on another F-150 but I noticed this today. The bottom leaf is out of alignment with the upper leafs and there is a gap between the bottom and the next one with a plastic spacer and a pin, the gap is only at the last few inches.

Is this gap normal or should they be tight together? I have 70,000 mi on the truck and didn't know if I should have a shop look at this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

KPATON,
THERE WAS A TSB ON THE MISALIGNMENT OF THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS SOME TIME AGO. I HAD THEM CHANGED ON MY TRUCK BECAUSE THEY KEPT SEPERATING FROM EACH OTHER. THE BULLETIN SAID THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE SPRING COULD POSSIBLY PUNCTURE THE GAS TANK IN SOME CASES OR THE LEAF WOULD BREAK OFF. MY TRUCK GOT THE UPGRADED ONES AND I HAVENT HAD ANY TROUBLE SINCE.

I read about this recall as well. It only applied to 4x4's, not 2wd suspensions.

I had the same problem with mine, and Ford replaced them.

Sorry I have not been back to this thread in a while.

I looked into the recall and this does not include my truck because I have the off road package.

Is there anyone out there that had them replaced/fixed on a truck with the off road package and 4x4? Does anyone know if this is even an issue? I do not know what they are supposed to look like.

There are straps holding the top three together.

Thanks for all your responses.
