Rancho RS9000
Rancho RS9000
Just received my latest Summit catalog. They have the RS9000's buy three get one free. Just thought I'd pass it on to those interested in these but didn't like the price.
Rancho 9000 vs. Bilstien for street
how much are the Rancho 9000 in the summit sale? Can the Rancho 9000 be adjusted to provide a stiffer ride than the Bilstien? I am looking for the best shock for street use only?

the soft setting is 1: firmest is 5
the 9000's will out perform the bilstiens hands down, the bilstiens are stock on the Z71's and many change them out to others and don't replace them with biltseins. They have a name associated with racing and sound good, they can cool faster being a monotube shock but you should not encounter this with the driving you are doing. Their racing line is a different story but that is not what you are buying. 9000's will tune to match your truck and driving habits.

? bout the 9000 ...
My 99 F150 sc 4x4 w/ camper shell looks like a dog draggin its **** when hooked to the trailer with 4 - 4wheelers and treestands .
? What would be best for my truck , 9000's or maybe some helper leaf springs? Also with the 9000's do you really need 4 all the way round? could I get by with 2 for the rear? Or would 4 be the way to go? Last question, is there any helper springs better than others? Thanks for any feed back.

Finally, someone answered

Thanks for answering. I am trying to determine which mods to perform to reduce body roll, and increase steering sensitivity. I am about to order some Hellwig front and back anti-sway bars. Next was the shocks. If setting no. 5 on the Rancho 9000 is stiffer than the Bilstiens, that is the shock for me.
I guess, now I have to decide if I am going to lower it before I buy the correct lenght Rancho 9000s?
I wonder why the fastest production truck in the world (Lightning) does not use them if the Rancho provides better street performance?

crawling under trucks to set the shock on a lowered truck is not pratical and if it was, the manufacturers are not smart enough to give the buyer what they want. They have proven themselves on this many times.
Wolverine,
Check out their website. www.4wheelparts.com. The site is pretty good and they can tell you where the nearest store is. Hope this helps.

no lowered version of Rancho RS 9000
V6Runner,
Called Rancho to see if the 9000 comes in a version for lowered trucks. They said they do not have an application for lowered trucks. I guess if I want them I will have to leave my truck stock? The used truck came with new 265/75/16's. Maybe if I go with a "shorter" yet wider tire, I could lower it an inch or so and get the Ranchos (I wanted to keep the stock height but need a stiffer suspension for the crosswinds on the interstate more so)?

you can run the stock height shocks on the truck unless you cut the bump stop, change lower control arms, you can use spindles and, or coils and the truck will bottom out on the bump stop before it compresses the shock to it max.
