torsion bar tool question

Unhappy torsion bar tool question

i'm about to install a 6" fabtech on my 98 4x4. it says to use a torsion bar unload tool, is this necessary to buy or do u guys know a way around it? any info. on torsion unload will help. thanks

i work at a ford dealership, and we have those tools sent to us by ford. Ive used them before, but our transmission guy has to take the tor. bars out of f150s and expeditions when taking out the crossmembers, and he says he never uses the tools. But i havent ever tried it that way myself.

BTW, how much was that kit? and do they make a 2, 3, or 4" version?

i waited as long as i could, but i finally just put a jack under the lower control arm and let it off slowly, worked great! no tool needed. i paid 1395 shipped on a special through national tire &wheel. as far as a 2 3 or 4 i don't know? i really apretiate your reply, my truck is gonna be a monster! i also have a 3" body lift with 38.5x14.50 swampers. thanks man
