Question torsion bars

Another torsion bar question... I just put on 305's , my torsion bars are cranked several turns to get the truck level. My question is, do you crank them up until you run out of threads or do they just get tight and stop like mine did? Iwas not using nothing more than a racket(not much leverage at all).and is there anyone who cranked theres without alinment that showes tire wear? Thanks for the help.

I cranked mine up about 1.25 inches to level it out... I did not get an alignment and 10k miles later there is no premature wear on the inside or outside... Hope this helps

Re: torsion bars

I have a 2002 f150 xcab and I've cranked mine until I ran out of threads!

I've not aligned my truck and am showing no unusual tire wear. I replaced the torison bars on my last truck and cranked them up without alignment and was getting 75,000 miles on my BF goodrich all terrains.

rotate your tires as much as possible!

I'm looking for a heavier torison bar to replace to get more lift, any ideas from anyone would be appreciated
