Question Rear Drop Shackles, where to buy?

What is the best price and where on a rear drop shackle set? I found the Belltech ones at Carparts.com for $71.95, but they have to be cheaper somewhere. Any cheaper brands? Thanks.

Also, how about the Transgo shift kit. I am looking at getting that at the same time.

I think the same Belltech part # is used on Chevy's, so many speed shops have them in stock. I paid about $70 for Belltech at a local shop and walked out with them that same day.

I bought my shackles from Stylin Concepts. I believe they are DCM brand. I paid about $25 for them when I ordered a bunch of other stuff. I think they normally run $32.

I'm thinking about a 2" drop for the rear using the shackles, anyone have any problems associated with this modification?

I've heard it may mess up pinion angles, I don't see how it would make much of a difference. any opinions appreciated. Thanks

I put a set of shackles on my truck a month or two ago. so far I have noticed that the truck tracks better and recoils less when entering steep driveways. This could be because of the urethane bushings, though. I haven't noticed anything bad yet. (noises, etc...) I kind of like not being thrown into the door panel when I come home now There is about an 8 inch, not so gradual step, down into my driveway. They keep putting new blacktop on the street, without repaving it,,,,,98

I got mine at Stylin Concepts for around $30 along with the Edelbrock IAS shocks. Have had the shackles on since Thanksgiving and love them. My stock General grabbers where shot, so it was difficult to tell how much it really improved traction, but body roll seemed to be slightly less. Once I did the shocks and the new Pirelli tires closer to Christmas WOW!!!! The three mods together made a huge difference in the ride. Compared to my wife's 2001 Jetta Wolfsberg it still handles like a pig, but for a truck it is a huge improvement. My pinion seal was already leaking before the mod, but I haven't heard of any problems with a 2" drop. Good luck installing them. It is a pretty simple operation.

call your city or county which ever one does the roads there and tell them they need to come fix your driveway. they will do all the way to the easment(sp) which is like 4-5 feet i belive. my dad gets his done like ever 2 years or so.
