Question Leaf Springs

I had a local spring shop add a leaf on my 97 F150 and they told me the bottom spring needed to be re arched cause it shouldn't be touching the uppper ones at all. I've looked at a few other Fords and they all seem to be very close to touching. Is this normal and is this what they call a contact overload spring? At anyrate they made it flatter and I'm thinking of going back and having them re arch it the way it was before...

Taken Care of...

Well, I took it back to the shop and they re arched the overload spring and the add a leaf, so my back end wasn't lifted too much. Only lift is the thickness of the spring, before it must of been around 1.5 inches. Looks much better now and it was taken care of at no extra charge. Now I have minimal spring wrap and the ride didn't change a bit. Also they installed spring retainers to keep all the leafs from coming out of alignment. Seems to be a commmon problem.
