Unhappy Well Im troubled, to lift or to drop

Well ford men and women it has come time for me to alter the suspension on my truck its a black 98 extended cab with the 4.6 and 3.55s, I really want to drop the truck and put on a set of 18s or 20s possibly a set of lightning rims, I really dont want the drop to be too severe, kind of like the way a lightning sits, or maybe like dare I say...an xtreme(lol) possibly a 2/4 or a 3/4, or just drop shackles in the back, I dunno I need some opinions. Im 20 years old Im in college I had thought of lifting it, with a leveling kit or spindles but that is just way too expensive and I think im too old for it, I already had a Z-71 with 36's and a really really bad reliability problem(guess it got stuck too much), but any pictures of what yall think would look best would really help, and any suggestions would be very appreciated.

well from the sound of it, it seems to me that you werent too happy with your lifted truck and you really want to try lowering it. if thats what you want, i say go for it! good luck with whichever way you go!

Keep in mind, the lifted truck he had was a Chevy. What kind of reliability problems were you having? Because of the lift? Or it being a Chevy in general? Then again this time you're dealing with 2wd. Not much can go wrong with a lifted 2wd. When you look at a good quality lowering kit, you might spend just as much either way. Then look at how much 18 or 20 inch rims will cost you, plus tires. If you've got 1200+ for just rims, plus another 800-1200 for decent tires then go for it.
