O2XLT, I read in Sport Truck that the kit makes a big difference on how the truck handles. They also say that the bars are hollow, make sure you find out whether or not they are. i rather use solid like Hellwig. i just installed front and rear for half the price of the Hotchins and what a difference that Hellwig front bar made. it is just a thought. i hope this helps.

Thumbs up Hotchkis

Yes, Hotchkis makes a terrific product, the fit and finish is great, it is well worth the money spent, and that is a very good price

Wink

This is just an opinion so skip the flames folks !!

Neither set is going to make a top heavy, high weight truck handle like a sports car, so why not save the cash and pay under $250 for a matched front and rear Hellwig set? Hellwig has also been making anti-sway bars for a vast market for many years.

AND YES, THE HOTCHKIS IS A GREAT SET, PRICE ASIDE.

Hi Max--

I have heard that you have to flip over and make some changes to get the Helwig bar on. Plus I am thinking of going with some better wheel and tires not to mentio better shocks as well.

And since Mark at Lightnin Force is getting me an even better deal on the bars, I can't pass it up.

Thanks all for responses.

Thumbs up 02XLT-

That sounds like a good deal. Good luck with your installation. I did the tires, shocks, and bars too; it made a great improvement. For those who do use the Hellwig set, the front one is a direct replacement and the rear one is easily installed. Any rear bar that uses U-bolts/saddle brackets requires that the brake lines be bent out of the way. The Hellwig mounts very easily above the axle if these brackets are installed in the correct position. Looking at the passenger's side rear wheel, the U-bolt/saddle bracket is installed facing the 2 o'clock position. In this position, the bar clears all obstacles and mounts about 1" above the axle sensor casting. The emergency cable bracket stays bolted in place, but requires a 5 second tweeking with pliars to bend it slightly.
