This NEW Ford SUCK!!
Hi O2XLT
Some of those 02 Reg.cabs do shake violently when hitting bumps/cracks at redline+ speeds!
Seriously....if your that concerned about it...take it back to dealer..
Call ahead..tell them your concerns.. Gonna have to take it out for a test drive..then see what their tech. has to say.
One step at a time....Now if they say thats "NORMAL" then....
i would want to go drive another one just like mine and compare..
Like the guys are saying here...lots of improvement mods...
just be sure your truck factory suspension is ok....cause when you do start suspension mods..oops. thats another story..
Good luck...OT

A quick check that could keep you from going to the dealer is the tire pressure! I know it sounds like a dumb thing to suggest, but after going to the dealer for repairs, i have found as much as 55 pounds of air in the tires!
A Wal-Mart oil change place put 50 pounds in once, lol. My tires were not stock at all, but still were clearly marked on the side as 44 max psi. My truck was all over the road on the smallest of bumps just like you are experiencing.
I did switch to the factory 17" wheels with 275/60 tires two days ago, and the difference in ride and handling is almost night and day. It's a cheap way to upgrade
I got mine used here in Houston for $250, complete with a matching spare.
I have also heard from other owners whose trucks were overinflated as well.
Check it out, it can't hurt

I also had the over inflated tire situation and was all over the road after a tire rotation...I guess the guy who did it was doing me a favor by jacking up the psi's, but when I let the extra air out it was all better. Just my two cents on this issue.

Look, a lot of guys on here including myself take offense to folks bad mouthing FORDS!!! Maybe you should have test drove the truck to see how it handled. Maybe, you should have been camping on your dearlers' doorstep to fix the problem instead of Boo Hooing on here and Saying "Fords Suck." Maybe you should take the advise of Confusious when he said..."Man who gets in pissing match might get wet!" Seriously though, I'm glad you got it fixed. Hope you didn't trade it off.
Well, you were vocal when you had the problem, why not be vocal now and let us know what was wrong? Too much tire pressure? That's my bet!,,,,98
The whole point of this message board is to help others, is it not? This post may help someone down the road. It's kind of a "pay it forward" thing.

What was it and how was it fixed? Inquiring minds want to know!
I agree 98screamer - I've had some quickie lube type places do some strange things. Part of why I tend to most everything myself. I had the tires on a car filled to 45 psi, stated max on the tire was 35. Not cool!

haha
Ok..you got me 98 screamer.
The tire pressure was a bit to high on all 4 wheels. The only thnig that I have to get use to know is that light back end. I am use to the handlnig of my previous mustang, so I get a little nervous at freeway speeds when I go over rough road or small pot holes.
The truck wants to start bouncing around back there. But other than that I love this truck. No complaints.
Damn Houston roads. We have great new stadiums but roads from the 1920's

Hehehe, I knew it
Believe it or not we're not much worse off than most other large cities. Some are much worse! Our freeways are okay, but our surface roads are pothole filled junk. I went down Fannin the other day, SHEESH! my Mom was with me. She had to hold on to the headrest, lol. I was going about ten mph
In other words, not my fault. I can't wait for the proposed 24 lane I-10 construction! Can you? After almost ten years, it's finally finished. Now they are going to tear it down again in a few years

Who did the overinflating? As for the rear, running a a few pounds lower in the rear will help somewhat.

Believe it or not, It must have been the dealer. They were about 7psi over what they should have been. I think alot of the problem is I am used to the handling of my older car. I have thought about an anti-sway for the rear, but I am not sure that will solve my particular problem.
Eventually I would throw som Edelbrock shocks at it. Yea I work downtown and the roads SUCK!

Most of these places probably use those filler attachments with the built in gauge, and trust it as gospel. My dealer put 55 pounds of air in my tires once! Granted, they were aftermarket, but were marked in 3/8" tall letters as 44 max. psi.,,,,98
