Question Pitman Arm.........

Got a very noisy pitman arm on my F250 4X4 that needs to be replaced.
Ford wants $225.00 to fix it.
I looked into installing a zerk fitting, but can't access the top of the joint. Not eough clearance to get a drill in there.
Ok, so I have to change the arm, but there's no room between the steering box and the crossmember to get a puller in to remove it. Do I have to take the steering box off the frame to do this? Has any one attempted this on a 4X4?
Maybe Fords price isn't so bad after all.

Yes, on some vehicles you have to unbolt the steering box from the frame to get the puller in. It wouldn't be a hard job to do yourself. It is time consuming and tough to work under there without a lift.
