Talking More Lift!!!!!

Hey there guys. I have a 3" PA body lift with ProComp 33" MT's. I want more, so I was thinking about putting 2" lift blocks on the rear leaf springs and cranking up my torsion bars in the front. Any thoughts on this? How far can I lift the front end by adjusting the torsion bars? Once I crank them up, do I have to get my truck re-aligned? Has anyone else done this? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can tell you one thing , your not going to get 2 inches out of the front torsion bars. I wouldn't expect more than 1 to 1 1/4. It's been said on here that yo ugo up to about 3 turns and not affect the alighnment at all. You can go more but you get into affecting the alignment and increasing the angles on the cv shafts.

Let me rephrase this

You can not get 2 inches by cranking the torsion bars and not expect any problems, at least IMO. I am pretty sure most found that cranking much more than 3 ( IMO around 5) increases the cv angle so much that it fires them fast. Plus it creates a lot of stress on the bars themselves. But, that's just IMO, I could be wrong.

I think

that a person could get 2-3 inches out of the cranking the torsion bars. But, I agree with what KYForrdfreak said.In addtion, Could you image how terribe the ride would be?By cranking the torsion bars you are pushing the susp. down. The farther you crank them the less down travel your suspension will have.I cranked mine up 1 1/2 inches and drove it like that for a couple of months.I decided the ride was a liitle harsh and lowered it down 1/2 inch, bringing my truck to 1"of lift.Rides & Looks good now

Well actually KYfordFreak is right!
i know because i had mine cranked 2 in in the front and about 3 mths after that i had to have a cv joint put in the left front the guys at the frd garage told me this was due to the torsion bars being adjusted so much and extreme cv joint angles
