Max Weight In The Bed?
Hello to all,
I just wanted to know what the MAX weight was that I can put in the bed of my truck. I have a 2001 F150 4x4 shortbed 5.4L 3.55 . I have to haul 2000+lb of dirt this week, and just wanted to know if my truck would handle it.
Thanks in advanced,

yep,
it will haul it. i've had my truck loaded heavier than that a few times. it's not pretty, but it can do it. if there's a way to split the load, do it. much easier on the truck. as you start loading keep an eye on the springs, and the front end. remember that your front end can get light enough to make steering a problem. common sense will prevail. good luck, Rich.

I've had 40 80lb bags of Quikrete and about 75 pieces of lumber in the bed of my truck, it drove ok. Also had about 4000lbs of gravel in the back, it drove not so well. My truck is a 98 F150 ext cab 4x4 shortbed, 5.4L 3.55
