4x4 Leveling Coils?

I own a 2000 F-150, ext. cab, 4x4. I am having a really hard time finding anything to level the front of my truck. Ive decided that cranking the torsion bar is not the way to go. Ive heard of Rough Country Leveling Coils and Daystar Coil Spring Bushings. But im having a hard time finding somplace that sells them for my truck. Any responses with info on where to buy these, or even a different brand let me know. Thanks

That's because no one makes them. The torsion bars are the springs. Also the reason they are ajustable is so you can level the truck, compensate for added weight (like a winch, snowplow, brushguard, etc.). The problems come in when you crank them up and eliminate any downtravel in the suspension(causing a rough ride) or exceed the angle which the CV joints were designed to work within. Look at it this way, would Ford (or Chevy) put an ajustment screw on them in this age of liability if it wasn't safe to adjust them?

well how about leveling blocks? I really dont want to crank the torsion bars because i dont want to sacrifice comfortability. I know blocks are made, but i dont know where to get them. Anyone have any info?

Thumbs down no blocks

Blocks are for leaf springs, you have a torsion bar suspension. The bars are lateral springs. The only way to lift it is with a lift kit. You can't level just the front unless you crank the bars. A lift will bring the front up, for example, 4" and the back 2" making it level. You are looking at a major expense. At the minimum $1000 plus install.

To clear things up, there are 3 major types of front suspension systems. Coil Spring, Torsion Bar, and Leaf Spring.

Torsion bar suspensions just happen to be the most expensive to lift.

Any ??? just email me or post to this reply

oh boy.

blocks are illegal in the front suspension of a truck with leaf springs. rear only.

Crank the bars or lift the truck. that is how you level the front of a Ford IFS truck. no ands, ifs or buts about it.

Another idea would be to remove the stock rear lift block(the one with the bump stop attached). Then buy an aftermarket bump stop of the same height and shorter U bolts.

Talking

Just had the dealer adjust my bars when it was in for an oil change & plugs. It looks much better. It even rides/drives better; seemed too soft/squishy before. The only downside I see is that the 265/75 tires now look like they should be one size bigger.
