2" rear drop question

Don't want to sound totally stoopid, and I have read through all the posts, but I still have a couple of questions. Thanks for your time and suggestions in advance.

1. I would like to obtain a "level" look for my truck. I think the easiest and cheapest way to do that would drop the rear 2". What are the ramifications of doing that to the driveshaft, ride quality etc? Is that the recommended course of action. I do not want to lower the front end any.

2. I would not attempt to do the work myself. What type of shop or are there any recommendations for shops in the SE houston/ pasadena/ deer park, tx area that can do this work. And what can I expect to pay for this?

Again, I hate to take the easy way out and not do a full scale search, but I know you guys like to talk about your mods so here is another chance.

thanks again,

DLF

2'' rear drop also

I'm having a 2" rear drop done on my Harley, and as per BellTech, I only need the rear leaf shackles.

I've got a 99' F-150 Extended Cab and I went to Competition Sales and bought a set of 2" drop shakels for right at $50 tax and all. Went home jacked her up and about 2 hours later and a few choice words it was done. Not sure how much a shop will charge but I would pay no more than $20. If I had the right tools and two jacks I probaly could have done it in about an hour. Its pretty easy man....I think you can tackle it urself. Good luck.

Does the drop change hauling weight?

Does dropping the truck down affect your total weight that you can haul?

My truck is first and foremost for working. Hauling mulch, furniture, or anything else I want to put back there.

What happens if you put 1000 pounds of rock in it?

Hunt,

I think it would. It kinda flattened out the leaf springs. Hope this lil tid-bit helps.

One other question.... does the resulting drop require shims, and, are the factory shocks still able to do their job properly?

Thanks

David
