Do these leafs look normal?

So I've been trying to find the sound of the clunk in the back and I think it may have something to do with the leaf springs. I noticed a considerable amount of grease/crap/gunk in between the leaf springs. Is this familiar to anyone? The truck has 142k miles on it and I'm in the process of restoring it back to a very good running truck.

In the second picture, do anybody else's springs look bent like this? Is that normal?

Spring itself looks normal, the grease may have been someone chasing noises previously

Grease is always a short term fix for a leaf spring. It will stop a squeak, but will create a muted grind as more dirt and sand are drawn into the spring pack.
