Mileage on leveling kits

Just curious for all of the screw 4x4 owners out there what mileage you have gotten out of your leveling kit. Trying to debunk this idea that leveling kits are or are not bad for the front ends on these fords...thanks

I removed a rough country leveling spacer from my 2013 Screw 4x4 today. Truck just rolled over 50k. I didn't even know the spacer was there until I took the shock out today. Only reason I took it off is because I was installing a 6" lift kit.

So short version, spacer hasn't caused any problems for me cause I didn't know it was even there.

depends on the sized spacer in question. A 3" can and will cause damage. Are you talking about mpg loss with a level or if it'll affect the longevity of suspension components?

You will get a slight drop in mpgs as well due to the change in aerodynamics.

I am right at 60k miles on my Rancho Quick Lift Loaded's...so far so good!

I put them on to replace the OE struts at 128k miles, and rolled 188k this past month...I think it was about 4 1/2 years ago that they were put on...

First thing I did to my 05 when I bought it new was add a 2.5" AS, running 35's ever since with no issues. Probably time to replace the shocks so we were checking everything out last weekend and all the components are still tight, just need to decide what shock replacement to go with.

Yeah it's not so much mileage that I'm worried about, it's messing up the front 4x4 system is what I'm concerned about. I had a lifted 2wd Tacoma that I lifted and noticed very little drop in mpg, but did notice that it turned into a big wind sail.

How many miles on your setup? If you are going to replace shocks in my humble opinion if do the coil over set rather than compressing the spring to replace the shock. Less time, less risk of injury with compressing that cool. The 5100 billstiens are a great shock. Had those on my Tacoma and loved em.

I've only got 57K on it so not real desperate yet. I've gotten good responses from those who have had/have the 5100's, probably the way I will go if I don't go with a full on suspension lift. I just don't want to loose any height but can't see spending the money and time with a 4" suspension lift for such a small amount of added lift and a 6" won't fit in my garage.

Installed a 2 inch spacer at 40K miles. At 100K miles I replaced ball joints, which seems pretty normal anyways. I'm at 163K miles and everything is tight. Leveling kits speed up wear on your joints but not drastically or harshly.

I put roughly 80K miles on my '04 Lariat using a 2-1/2" Daystar kit...no problems other then a little rough hitting holes or speed bumps.

My '11 Lariat had a 2" Autospring kit for almost 30K miles and no problems with that one either. It rode a little better than the Daystar kit on my '04 when hitting bumps in the road.

My current '13 Platinum has the Bilstein 5100's front and rear with the fronts set at 1-1/2 inches. Truck rides and handles better then the other two did with the leveling kits. Longer shock travel smooth's out the bumps better than the leveling kits did.

Either way you choose a leveled truck with larger tires makes these F-150's a lot better looking then stock.
