I have 2011 F-150 crew cab, getting out of the level kit phase. Was about to pull the trigger on a 6 in rough country for 999$$$. Who has experience with this kit and has been running it for more than 2 years? any problems or concerns?. Shops say go BDS which is around 1800 for the kit with lifetime warranty but RC has lifetime too? The thing that worrys me is that spacer setup with rough country. Isnt that just like a level kit and will kill your ball joints? I want something that wont cause me hassle in the future, opinions with these lifts or any other would be appreciated, Thanks

 

I've had my rough country on for 2 years exactly and i've never had a problem with any of the lift components(besides crappy rear shocks that i replaced with bilsteins) There's nothing bad about the 6" strut spacer other than it looks a little silly to some. Swap them out with 6" lift struts and that solves that problem. The spacer won't cause any problems unless you try to stack a level kit on top which isn't reccommended at all unless you have lift struts.

 

I agree. Pro Comp also used a large spacer instead of a longer coilover. I think Fabtech also switched to this setup a few years ago. Rough Country has a solid reputation. I'm happy with the RCX on my Ram.

 

I have zero complaints about my RCX lift. The option to get a lifted strut just sweetens the deal.

 

My first choice would be Rize or BDS if I could do it again knowing what I know now. Then Procomp or Fabtech. Not that Procomp or Fabtech are not quality products but after seeing them all Rize and BDS just make a superior product.

I have a 6" Skyjacker kit (HATE IT) for about 4 yrs. I haven't seen a RCX or rough country lift in person so I can't speak on them.

 

I toiled over this for a good while. I ended up with 8" Rize Bilstiens and 36x15 MTZ. I love my truck but it doesn't fit anywhere now. Parking garages are out of the question I can't use my attached or detached garage. It will not fit anywhere. That being said stay with 6 and 35s. Probably bds. I did read somewhere Rize made a 6 at one time. I don't know if it's true though.
