new coil springs = new shocks?
new coil springs = new shocks?
Hello everybody.
I am getting ready to lift my truck. I have a 2001 4.6L Super cab f150
I am currently putting together a budget and deciding on a lift that best fits my budget and taste.
My question is: If i do 2" coil springs, Will i also need shocks that are 2" longer?
thanks for any input you may have.
I am either going to do a 7.5" fabtech complete spindle lift
Or
Piece together a lift using a 3.5" spindles + 2" coil springs with a 3" block in the rear and if i need them shocks, I would like to do bilstein 5100's since I hear they are the best ride. I am up for any reccomendations you may all have.
THANKS! and god bless

This is right where I am headed with my nephew's truck (2wd 4.2L) so I will be replacing springs and shocks (and a ton of front end stuff making noise currently)... I have yet to find a part number for longer shocks for 2" level just yet...
You can use stock size shocks with a spindle lift plus a leveling kit. Stock ones are compatible with leveling kits and the spindles don't affect any suspension mounts or anything, so you should be fine. That's true for spindle on Chevy's, so I assume that's how spindle lifts for these trucks work as well.
