Lift Kit Suggestions

Hey all I've got a 2010 XLT SuperCrew and I bought it with what I believe is a 3" leveling kit and I would like to replace it with either a 3" or 6" lift. Right now the truck has a set of Hankook 275/70r18's on the stock wheels. Should I get a 3" and bigger tires or would a 6" look bad with these tires? I don't really want to get new wheels yet but I would like to get 20"s one day but I think a new lift kit would save the suspension later. What do you guys think?

The biggest you can go safely up front before having to go full suspension lift is 2.5" unless you wanted a 3" body lift. Rancho has a 4" and 6" kit that lets you reuse stock wheels and some other companies let you use stock wheels but a slightly smaller tire than a 35"

Yeah, those tires are gonna look small with a full suspension lift. But I would get rid of the 3 inch leveling kit. Back in 2004, F-150 owners figured out that 2.5 inches is the absolute limit for a leveling kit. The 3 inch kits leave the ball joints at way too severe of an angle to last.

I'd put a 4 or 6" Rancho (only lift you can use stock wheels on and an excellent lift at that, especially for the money when they run their $300+ cash back deals) on and deal with the tires looking a little funky until you get new ones down the road. If you make this decision based on your current tires, which are replaceable, you'll regret it.

And if that level is a 3", I'd also want it off.
