Changing Rear Shocks

I have an 05 screw 4x4...just asking..may sound dumb but its worth a shot. Do I absolutely have to jack up and remove the tire or can I change the rear shocks without doing any of that?

I have a 04 Scab RWD and I changed my rear shocks a few days ago and all I did was jack the axle up just enough to take the weight off the shock mounting bolts. Not too bad at all. Sorry, that is the best I can do for you. My upper and lower bolt torque specs are 66 ft/lbs.
Best of luck.
