Need help front suspension

I am in the process of rebuilding a 2000 F150 extended cab with a triton 5.4L RWD that has been sitting for the past 4 years. It appears to have a suspension lift on the front end but I am not sure how much it is lifted. Here is a picture on the assembly. About to go buy shocks and have no idea which ones to pick up. Anyone seen this before or have suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

Haven't seen a spindle extension like that before.

Is there any drop crossmember on it? Doesn't seem like it but I can't tell from that one picture.

Look inside the coil pocket both top and bottom and see if you see a spacer, check the front for a drop crossmember, and get some better pictures. Like one from the outside where you can see the tire and get the tire measurement (can get a rough estimate from that) and at least get a picture from the front so we can see the ball joint angles.

From that picture, your ball joint angles look terrible, you may be needing more than just shocks. Also what exactly is holding that spindle spacer thing onto the spindle?

Here are some better pictures of what I am dealing with. My understanding is, when it was last driven the inside ware on the tires was terrible even with an alignment.

I am considering scraping whats in there and going with the rough country 3" kit. Any advise would be welcome. Thanks for the insight.

It could possibly be the old procomp 6" lift that's been discontinued for some years now, but it's pretty hard to find a picture of it so I can't really reference to it. Otherwise I'm not sure, I can't find anything like that spindle extension from a kit for the 97-03 2wd's.

But I can say your ball joint angles and tie rod angles don't look great. And if it's been sitting for 4 years those probably should be replaced too,

I think I am going to scrap the lift kit and put a Rough Country 3" with new spindles. Planning on the ball joint replacement per your advice as well. Some of the joins are leaking, and seem worn out. Thanks for the info.

The crazy part was the 4"+ pay in the tie rods lol. Ill put the video up tomorrow but it was the worst I have seen. Rough country 3" with new spindles is in the mail and tomorrow ill have the parts for the tie rods and ball joints.

Question, I have heard that Moog is the way to go for most steering components but I am on a pretty tight budget. Can anyone recommend a less expensive alternative?

Just go with whatever has grease fittings, as long as you keep them full, they generally last longer than ones with out. I think the autozone house brand has them now.
