remove a leaf spring

I heard somewhere that if you remove a leaf spring the ride will be a little better/softer. is this true? plus i would like to level my truck out without messing with the torsion bars and getting an alignment.

my truck as 3 leaf springs on both sides and is 4x4, 98 super cab. would it hurt to just remove one and see what that does? theres no way i would remove 2 and leave just one on there, so i just want to try removing one.

thanks.

It's true to an extent, but you greatly reduce the amount of weight you'll be able to carry or tow. Axle wrap could be increased also. Basically you'll have to be easier on the truck. But you can always try it and see what happens and if not put it back. Or you could just get drop shackles, spend 30 minutes to install them and be done..
